MY story
Lyra is a 2 year old, spayed Rottweiler. She is in foster at the moment. This is what Foster Mum has to say so far;
Lyra is a beautiful girl who is very soppy and loving to her people. Lyra has some anxiety around new people, and this can come across as guarding behaviour- which is typical of her breed. However, with correct introductions, she is your best friend, and I believe her issues can be fixed as she gains more positive experiences.
Lyra had never lived with dogs before. However, has integrated well into a pack with 4 other large breeds, with correct introductions. I think she would benefit from having another large breed in her future home but would not advise smaller dogs because of her size and dominance. Alternatively, Lyra could be an only dog.
Lyra loves to carry things! She will take your socks and parade them happily around. She also will allow you to take them from her mouth. Lyra shows no food aggression and is actually a bit fussy about what she will eat. Lyra will want to sleep on your bed at night and will roll onto her back for tummy rubs in the morning. Overall, she needs to find her person/people, who she will be forever loyal to and in love with. She is currently 35kg with room to grow. Lyra needs lead training. She is incredibly strong and needs work with other dogs/people when out.
Large breed experience is a must, introductions needed, and dog confident children over 12.
Not cat friendly.
MY PERFECT HOME
Lyra needs a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum.
She would need a strong, active, and experienced owner.
Good with larger dogs. No cats and children 12+ please.
