MY story
Floyd arrived with us from Romania over a year ago now.
When he arrived he was completely shut down and so scared. But with time and patience Floyd has flourished into the wonderful dog he is today.
A few weeks after Floyd arrived it became very clear he has some problems with his back legs. After X-rays we discovered he had hip dysplasia. We then had to wait for Floyd to finish growing before we were referred to a specialist in London. After many scans and more X-rays it became apparent his hip dysplasia was inoperable. There were just to many things going against the surgery being a success. So we made the decision not to operate and make Floyd’s life as comfortable as we could for as long as possible.
Part of this was hydrotherapy. Which I can honestly say has changed his life. He has spent months building up the muscles to take over where his hip joints fail. He has gone from multiple pain medication to medication free and charging around like there is nothing wrong.
But there is something wrong and we can’t fix it. So we need a very special family to adopt Floyd. A family that is willing to give him the best life ever until we can’t control the pain anymore. That may be in 5 years time or in 15 years time we just don’t know.
So we are prepared to cover any medical costs related to Floyd’s hips and continue to pay for his weekly hydrotherapy which is in Deal. We will offer lifetime support to make sure Floyd has the best care we can give.
Floyd is such a sweet and loving dog but he is nervous so it will take time for him to trust and love you. He has come so far from the nervous puppy that arrived.
Floyd is crate trained and completely house clean.
He lives a paddling pool and naps on the sofa.
He is a big clumsy giant who I absolutely adore. He will break my heart when he leaves but it’s time for Floyd to get his happy ever after.
MY PERFECT HOME
Floyd will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all.
As with all dogs on going training will be needed.
Floyd can live with dogs, cats and children 12+
