MY story
Vanna arrived with us a few months ago now. She was a but she at first but doing really well now.
Vanna can live with or without another dog. Cats should be fine on slow introductions and children 8+.
What her foster mum has to say:
Vanna loves to sleep next to and being close to her chosen person, very chilled out, and likes to sleep generally. She's quite happy left to her own devices for a couple of hours as long as she has some enrichment activities to keep her busy and tire her out. She's learning to play. Her favourite is things to chew and hunt for treats in, she's not really interested in balls, she is coming out of her shell. She loves zooming around the garden and enjoys going for walks. She sticks close on the lead but does zigzag everywhere, trying to sniff everything. She's very guarded with new people, but we're working on that, and she will need further training with this. She loves to go for a drive and see/smell new things. She enjoys scent work, which we incorporate into play and enrichment. She has a very powerful nose. She does have some triggers from her past life, she is scared of brooms/mops etc anything stick like and she doesn't like people being behind her or holding anything large over/near her, which we've been working to reassure her with, but it's still enough to make her cower despite careful movement around her. She is mostly toilet trained to go in the garden, but if she has accidents indoors, it's on a puppy pad. There have been a few incidents where she has been scared by something or someone, and she does a wee which she can't help, but otherwise, she's very good. She's quite boisterous and playful with other dogs and is still learning to share, so she would need introduction and monitoring. She loves attention and praise when she's good. And if she trusts you, she loves belly rubs.
MY PERFECT HOME
Vanna will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing. Due to her still being nervous, she would benefit from a quiter home. As with all dogs, some ongoing training will be needed.
